Construction
Auramah Valley’s dedication to clean and green technologies starts from the very initial stages of construction. The buildings here are made of steel – a technology that has been prevalent in the West since the 1950s but is not widely used in India because of the expense. With steel buildings, we have been able to considerably lower our carbon footprint because this technology does not require the use of bricks, sand, cement, or water in construction.
This lowers the impact of the construction as so little is taken from the land and so little is put to use for construction. It creates a major saving in terms of energy and resources used. At the same time, the construction here is of exceptional quality meant to fulfill the expectations of uber-luxury and outstanding aesthetics. They are also meant to be safe and lasting even in the turbulent mountain climes.
Rainwater Harvesting
Auramah Valley is a leader in rainwater harvesting and has what is possibly the greatest facility for rainwater harvesting in the state. Despite having a natural source of water in the form of a stream on the lands, we ensure that not a drop of water that falls from the skies is wasted if we can help it.
The rainwater harvesting tanks at Auramah Valley have a capacity of 10 lakh liters. Water is collected in reservoirs that are then taken to filter plants. This filtered water serves all the needs from drinking to bathing and gardening of our residents.
Bearing in mind the water scarcity issues that have plagued Himachal Pradesh in the past years, we consider it our responsibility to nourish and replenish the natural water supply and to this end ensure that we make the most of all the natural bounty that comes with the monsoons.
Organic Farming
Mental health is rooted in healthy bodies and nothing beats the joy of watching something grow when it comes to managing stress. At Auramah Valley, blessed as we are with beautiful weather and naturally fertile soil, organic farming is of course high on our list of priorities.
We take great pride in our organic cultivation that comprises vegetables and fruit. As far as possible, we try to make use of home-grown vegetables in our food and our residents also take great pleasure in being involved in the process.
Many are the homeowners who try to nurture their green thumb alongside our experienced and knowledgeable gardening staff. And what is more, it becomes a memorable family activity to have children participate, especially in picking fruits and vegetables. Added to the natural goodness of organically farmed vegetables is the joy and sense of calm that comes from watching the fruits of your efforts bloom and grace your own plate.
Waste Disposal
One of the biggest challenges faced by any large residential facility is the proper disposal of waste. At Auramah Valley, we are very particular about efficient waste disposal. All waste from individual units is collected and properly sorted. All green waste that can be composted is turned to compost and all other waste is taken care of in strict adherence to regulations. There is also a sewage treatment plant to take care of biowaste.
